Receive a fortune cookie — with a twist.‍

The Fortune Cookie Cart invites anyone passing by to receive a fortune cookie. The twist? These cookies aren’t edible - instead, they’re origami - and instead of containing a prediction of the future, they contain a stranger’s reflection of the past, based on a series of rotating provocations (e.g. ‘What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?’

Anybody who discovers The Fortune Cookie Cart will be able to receive a fortune cookie: all they need to do is write one of their own.

Created by Rosabel Tan and Micheal McCabe, the cart has travelled extensively across Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond, facilitating more than 10,000 exchanges.
